Film: "Adapted"

  • Miracle Theatre 535 8th Street Southeast Washington, DC, 20003 United States (map)

Driven by unbreakable willpower — Josh, Anna, and Danielle each embark on a daring and personal adventure with the hope of finding new ways to access places that make them feel most alive.

Anna Soens aims to become the first paraplegic athlete to summit Mt. Baker, a towering 10,781-foot glaciated volcano in Washington State. Josh Hancock leads a custom adaptive raft expedition down the wild, scenic Salmon River in Idaho. Danielle Doelling takes on the ultimate test of endurance, attempting to hand-cycle 87 miles across the rugged terrain of the White Rim Trail, in the Canyonlands National Park, Utah.

While the pursuit of adventure is their shared goal, each of their stories reveals a deeper journey—one of resilience, self-discovery, and post-traumatic growth. Through moments of triumph and challenge, ADAPTED celebrates the incredible capacity of the human spirit to find purpose and forge new horizons, even after life-altering setbacks.
